The Mystery of Grace / October 13 and 15, 2014

  1. The church is a mystery of God’s grace.
    1. Paul is a steward of God’s grace. Ephesians 3:1-2
    2. God’s grace includes a mystery called the “church.” Ephesians 3:3-5
    3. The church brings together Jew and Gentile. Ephesians 3:6
      1. Gentile believers are co-heirs of the kingdom.
      2. Gentile believers are co-members of the body.
      3. Gentile believers are co-sharers of the promise.
  2. The mystery of God’s grace is revealed.
    1. The gospel preached: God’s mystery come to light. Ephesians 3:7-9
    2. The gospel lived: God’s mystery comes to life. Ephesians 3:10
    3. The gospel planned: God’s mystery comes to pass. Ephesians 3:11
    4. The gospel applied: God’s mystery comes to fruition. Ephesians 3:12-13

IMPLICATIONS

  • God gives grace for ministry. 
  • God does not keep you from hardship.
  • God is a God who reveals.
  • God saves us to live together in unity.
